 Join us as we discover the isolation of Croajingolong National Park, situated in the East Gippsland coast. The jewel of this area is lovely Mallacoota. We cross over the border in to NSW for our next day of walking in the beautiful Bega Valley.
With the coast now behind us we travel through the mountains and into the magnificent Kosciusko National Park. It embraces on an extensive alpine region and includes Australia’s highest mountains as well as the source of the famous Murray and Snowy Rivers. In winter it is a haven for ski enthusiasts while in summer, it is a perfect place to explore the grasslands with their alpine wildflowers and crystal clear lakes.
It’s New Year’s Eve and there is no better place to celebrate than on the roof of Australia - Mt. Kosciusko! A couple of days here to trek to the summit and marvel at the views. From here we follow the Murray River and drive back in to Victoria following the Alps. Before returning to Melbourne, we stop off at Mt. Buffalo for some more walking and more of that fantastic scenery.
