Booking Terms & Conditions

These Bookings & Conditions outline how our tours operate and what you can expect when travelling with Walkabout Gourmet Adventures. We believe that good travel begins with clarity, care, and shared understanding.

By making a booking with Walkabout Gourmet Adventures, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to the following terms.

1. Booking & Contract

A booking is confirmed and a contract is formed once:

  • we receive your completed booking form, and

  • your deposit has been paid, and

  • you have accepted these Bookings & Conditions.

Payment of a deposit constitutes acceptance of these terms.

2. Deposits & Payments

To secure a place on a tour, a non-refundable deposit is required:

  • Australian tours: AUD $200 per person

  • International tours: AUD $500 per person

Final payment is due:

  • Australian tours: 30 days prior to departure

  • International tours: 90 days prior to departure

Bookings made after the final payment due date must be paid in full at the time of booking.

3. Prices & Inclusions

All prices are quoted in Australian Dollars (AUD) unless otherwise stated.

Tour prices include inclusions as outlined in the individual itinerary. Prices generally do not include:

  • airfares (unless specified)

  • travel insurance (highly recommended)

  • personal expenses

  • alcohol (unless specified)

Prices are based on costs at the time of publication. Walkabout Gourmet Adventures reserves the right to adjust prices due to changes in supplier costs, exchange rates, taxes, or government charges.

No refunds are available for services not utilised (including meals, walks, transfers or accommodation missed by choice).

4. Minimum Numbers

All tours require a minimum number of guests to operate.

If a tour does not reach minimum numbers, we will:

  • offer an alternative tour or date, or

  • provide a full refund of monies paid.

5. Amendments by the Guest

Requests to amend a confirmed booking must be made in writing.

  • Amendments may incur administration fees and/or supplier charges.

  • Amendments requested close to departure may be treated as a cancellation and rebooking.

Walkabout Gourmet Adventures will always do its best to assist, but cannot guarantee changes once arrangements are confirmed.

6. Cancellations by the Guest

All cancellations must be received in writing.

  • More than 30 days before departure: deposit forfeited (or transferred to another available tour, subject to availability)

  • 29 days or less: no refund unless your place is resold (admin cost may be applied)

7. Changes or Cancellations by Walkabout Gourmet Adventures

Occasionally, circumstances beyond our control may require changes to an itinerary, accommodation, or walking route.

We reserve the right to:

  • alter itineraries for safety, weather, or logistical reasons

  • substitute services with alternatives of comparable standard

  • cancel a tour if necessary

If we cancel a tour, we will offer:

  • a full refund, or

  • a transfer to another tour (by agreement)

No additional compensation will be payable.

8. Force Majeure

Walkabout Gourmet Adventures is not responsible for delays, changes, or cancellations caused by events beyond our control, including but not limited to:

  • natural disasters

  • extreme weather

  • pandemics or health emergencies

  • government restrictions

  • transport disruptions

  • border closures

In such circumstances, we will act fairly and reasonably and offer refunds or credits of recoverable amounts where possible. Some refunds may be delayed pending supplier reimbursements.

9. Health, Fitness & Participation

Our tours involve walking in natural environments and require a reasonable level of mobility, balance, and fitness.

By booking, you confirm that:

  • you are physically capable of participating in your chosen tour

  • you have disclosed any medical conditions that may affect your participation

  • you accept the inherent risks associated with walking and outdoor travel

If, in the opinion of our guides or tour leaders, a guest’s health or behaviour poses a risk to themselves or others, we reserve the right to request their withdrawal from the tour. No refund will apply in such cases.

10. Travel Insurance (Highly Recommended)

We strongly recommend that all guests take out comprehensive travel insurance.

Your insurance should ideally cover:

  • medical expenses

  • emergency evacuation

  • trip cancellation or interruption

  • personal liability

  • loss or damage to personal belongings

While travel insurance is not compulsory, Walkabout Gourmet Adventures cannot accept responsibility for costs incurred due to illness, injury, cancellation, delays, or loss where suitable insurance is not in place.

For international tours, guests are encouraged to confirm that their insurance provides adequate overseas medical and evacuation cover.

11. Travel Advice & Documents

Guests are responsible for ensuring they have:

  • valid passports

  • required visas

  • any necessary health documentation

We recommend checking Smartraveller.gov.au for current travel advice.

Travelling against official government advice may affect insurance validity.

12. Behaviour & Group Harmony

Our tours are small-group experiences designed to be enjoyable, respectful, and inclusive.

We reserve the right to decline or remove any guest whose behaviour is disruptive, unsafe, or incompatible with the enjoyment of others. No refund will apply.

13. Photography & Marketing

By participating in a Walkabout Gourmet Adventure, you consent to the use of photographs or video footage taken during the tour for promotional purposes, unless you advise us otherwise in writing prior to departure.

14. Liability & Risk

Walking tours and adventure travel involve inherent risks.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Walkabout Gourmet Adventures, its directors, staff, guides, and suppliers are not liable for injury, illness, loss, damage, delay, or inconvenience arising from participation in a tour, except where required under the Australian Consumer Law.

Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

15. Privacy

Personal information is collected solely for booking and tour administration purposes and handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

16. Governing Law

These Bookings & Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of Victoria, Australia.
