There has never been a better time to travel to Europe in the last 10 years than now because at the moment the Aussie $ is almost at a 10 year high against the Euro. With airfares still very competitive and with some spaces still available on our Spring and Summer Walking Holidays now is the time to start travelling to Europe again…

During Spring we concentrate on our Walking Holidays in Spain, Southern France, Italy and Greece. They are all wonderful destinations at this time of the year – Spring is really one of the nicest times of the year to travel in Europe and this year in particular, after such a long cold winter, the European hoteliers and restaurant owners are going to be especially keen to greet their guests when the sun finally comes out !

On 2 April we are conducting our Paradores and the Road to Santiago de Compostelle Walk through Northern Spain – a fascinating insight into the history surrounding the “El Camino” and St James and the famous pilgrimage which was established 800 years ago !

On 16 April we begin our Journey Back in Time Walk which travels through the Douro Valley and the Algarve in Portugal and then on into Spain. In Andalusia we visit Seville, Ronda, Granada and then stay in the spectacular Sierra Nevada where we explore the Alpujarra – the famous whitewashed ancient villages. There are still 2 places available on this fascinating “Journey Back in Time”!

On the 7th May we follow the footsteps of the famous French author and movie maker Marcel Pagnol as we visit his favorite areas in Provence. This 7 day tour is a great opportunity to explore both the beautiful coastline of the Cote Azure and the remote hillside villages of Upper Provence. The Walk begins and finishes in one of France's most beautiful towns – Aix en Provence which is now only 3 hours away by TGV train from Paris.

Our final Spring Walk is to Sicily and the amazing Aeolian islands. This fascinating tour firstly explores the diversity of Sicily – from its rugged coastline to its tiny mountain villages, its history with its Greek temples and Roman and Christian ruins, 2,600 year old Siracussa and of course the majestic volcano of Mt Etna. From here we travel to the Aeolian Islands where we visit Lipari, Vulcano, Panarea and Stromboli. These isolated islands lead a precarious existence in the buffeted waters of the north Sicilian coast.

Greetings from beautiful white Provence! February 10, 2010
We just thought we would say hello and let you know that we haven’t been buried under all the snow we are having over here at the moment and that our guests are enjoying themselves in our lovely warm, cozy apartments.

We’ll attach some photos so you can get a feel for the atmosphere. It is certainly an unusually cold winter but when the sun does come out the scenery is superb and the snow capped French Alps and the blanket of snow just around here is a delight. All our apartments have lovely warm central heating and because the stone walls are over a meter thick and well insulated you certainly won’t get cold inside them. » Read More
